About ICCnotes
ICCnotes is a clinical reference on inherited cardiac conditions (ICC), covering genetics, diagnosis, risk stratification, follow-up, exercise and UK driving (DVLA) guidance, pregnancy, and practical management across 25 conditions. It is written for clinicians and trainees.
Who writes this
ICCnotes was created by Dr Zakariye Ashkir (MBChB MRCP DPhil), a UK-based cardiologist working in inherited cardiac conditions and cardiac imaging.
The content is updated regularly as guidelines and evidence change, and is currently undergoing peer review.

What this is not
This is a set of referenced working notes, not a guideline. It summarises and cites the guidelines rather than standing in for them, so the source document should still be read before acting on a recommendation. It is arranged for looking something up in clinic rather than for learning a subject from scratch, and it assumes clinical training to interpret safely.
How it is sourced
Every clinical statement carries an inline citation, around 900 of them across 218 numbered references, each given in full with a DOI link so a claim can be traced back to the paper it came from. The content is drawn from current ESC, AHA/ACC, HRS, NICE and BHRS guidance and the primary literature underpinning it.
References are audited periodically so that each DOI resolves to the paper its reference line names. Every condition carries its own review date, which changes only when that condition's content does. Where the evidence is weak, or the guidelines disagree, that is said rather than smoothed over.
Free and independent
ICCnotes is free to use, with no paywall, registration or advertising. It receives no pharmaceutical or commercial funding, nothing on it is sold, and no commercial party influences its content.

Drug doses, thresholds and recommendations must be verified against the current SmPC/BNF and the full guideline before use in patient care.
